Every Frame counts

A Lifetime of Creations

Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to work on a number of incredible projects that have allowed me to grow and establish myself within this competitive industry. I hope you’ll enjoy viewing my projects as much as I enjoyed working on them. Go ahead and explore, and don’t hesitate to reach out if you’d like to learn more.

Courtney Kay is from the small town of Albion, Indiana, where no one really would expect to find people who want to go into animation. She has delved into many arts and media forms, from 4 years of high school senior, speech and debate, and an avid knitter. With a love of movies such as Nightmare Before Christmas, she started to delve into animation during her last few years of high school and now pursues a bachelor's in animation with specialties in 2D animation and character animation.

Artist statement

I create animations hoping that I can touch someone's heart one day like they did when I was a kid. Out of all the different types of Animation styles, 2D will always have my heart, which I wanted to show in this portfolio.  Some great animators and artists inspired me for this project, such as James Baxter, Vivian Medrano, and Mary Blair. Another hope for this project is to establish a name for myself in the animation community for my studio that  I plan to own within 20 to 30 years. Since high school, there has been this one phrase that I've always kept the heart; it’s “every role counts”. Our theater instructor would always remind us if that is to brighten our spirits and that what I wanted to incorporate that into my work.
